Understand the decision, the workflow and the people accountable for it before choosing the technology. A useful system changes what someone can do.

Keep the evidence close.

A claim should lead back to its source. Make the distinction between source material, inference and judgement visible wherever it affects a decision.

Build the whole system.

Data, permissions, integrations, evaluation and operational ownership are part of the product. An interface alone does not make a system ready for use.

Leave room for judgement.

Give people clear review points and control over consequential actions. AI can help assemble an answer; it does not remove the need to question it.
